As with foiling, embossing and its polar opposite, debossing, impress or depress an image into paper or card. Contemporary and fresh in aesthetic, embossing and debossing can elevate a mainstream design into a first-class one.

Whether raised (embossing) or sunken (debossing), the surface of the paper or card is altered through this process. Two magnesium, copper or brass dies which fit into each other are used to raise and recess the paper. As they come together, the raised die forces the paper into the recessed die and creates the permanently embossed impression.

Text, logos and other images can all be formed by the embossing method and it offers a very cost-effective way of adding an extra design element to your product. To find out more, do get in touch.
